PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S BASKETBALL IS BACK IN HOUSTON WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE HOUSTON GALAXY AND THE WMLBA


logoProfessional Women’s Basketball is back in Houston, Tx with the announcement of the Houston Galaxy. The Galaxy will be one of ten teams that will apart of the Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA). The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA), is extremely excited about the league and its new teams. Starting in November, December and January, the Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA) will host their showcases starting in Houston, Texas.

The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA) was founded in 2015, as an off Season international for profit LLC women’s basketball league. Their goal is to provide Professional basketball opportunities to players, coaches and executives which is not often available at the minor league level. The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA)will introduce some of the very best and sharpest most talented professional female basketball players to the “Women’s National Basketball Association”, (WNBA), outside of the draft. The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA) will be under a professional (Collective Bargaining Agreement) CBA, and will have 2 seasons the first year of league operations. Our goal is to keep our professional female athletes focused professionally by providing education, training, coaching, marketing, and physical development.

Ms. Janell Burse, is the Commissioner for the Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMBA); and former professional all star player for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Ms. Burse was honored with wonderful coaches and executives who inspire and guided her career during the years she played with the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBA). As a stellar player in the (WNBA), Ms. Burse, dreams played out on the basketball court not only in the United States but also abroad. She never forgot to give back to her community. When the “Women National Basketball Association” (WNBA) season was over; Ms. Burse, continued her journey of networking in the community and helping other female athletes achieve their goals.  Due to her sincere love for the game of basketball and sports, Mrs. Burse turned her passion for the game of basketball into the “Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA)”.

“There are a lot of high quality players who don’t have the opportunities to carry on their careers after college,” said Kre’Tonia Morgan, President, of the Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA).  The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association  (WMLBA) is the starting point to helping some of the world’s best female athletes in basketball achieve their dreams.

The Women’s Minor League Basketball Association (WMLBA) will air on the Women’s Minor League Network. The games will be available live and On-Demand.
