NEW YORK, September 16, 2026 – The last show of the 2026 New York Fashion Week’s September calendar will take place on a Sunday night, when the designers, models, and fashion enthusiasts will come together at the Gotham Hall at 8:30 p.m.

That’s the raw beauty of fashion week. It isn’t real until something nearly goes off the rails.

By the time the house lights dimmed inside Gotham Hall for the official finale wrap-up on September 13, 2026, all that backstage chaotic energy shifted into pure, deliberate theater. The showcase ran from September 11 through September 13. It transformed Midtown into a fast-paced blur of tailored silhouettes, rich velvet, and relentless street-style photographers

The Sunday schedule kicks off at noon, and then at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. there will be presentations. The final performance at 8:30 p.m. is anticipated to be the most spectacular one, as rthe unway will be not an individual showcase anymore but rather the summary of all events and collections during the season.

This approach adds some specific attractiveness to the event. Fashion weeks are usually not limited to one look or one fashion designer. Collections create a visual narrative through a few days – tailoring next to knitwear, dresses next to streetwear and famous names next to young labels. By the time of the closing show, the viewer has understood the conversation.

Gotham Hall is doing some of its storytelling even before the house lights go down. The historic Beaux-Arts building at 1356 Broadway provides a magnificent ballroom setting rather than a blank industrial space for the finale. For visitors, the use of just one location saves them from the usual annoyance of fashion week—rushing from show to show around Manhattan.

The busiest schedule takes place on Saturday, when there will be four shows from noon to 8:30 p.m. The same four shows will take place on Sunday before the finale. It’s expected that the doors will open before each show, and visitors are advised to come 30-45 minutes early because general admission tickets are given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event takes place against the backdrop of the entire September Fashion Week in New York, where fashion editors, buyers, photographers and designers descend into the city, before the focus of the fashion world shifts to London, Milan and Paris. There is a different calendar for the public, listing several independent shows taking place simultaneously in Manhattan during this time, reminding us that “NYFW” is actually a calendar, not an event. Fashion Week Online’s schedule includes events running through Sept. 13 and additional showcases around the city.

Here’s what attendees often forget: Fashion Week invitations can be invitation-only, and independently produced shows can include public tickets. The reader will need to check the host of the event, location, entry requirements, and date prior to making travel plans because Fashion Week dates are subject to change and not all similarly named events are created by the same company.

The information about getting to the event for those who plan on attending is a little less exciting but equally important. The venue will be located close to Herald Square and Penn Station in Midtown New York City. Dining establishments and hotels in the area tend to book up fast during fashion week.

And by Sunday night, the garments will have done more than merely pass under the lights on the runway. They will have communicated the themes of the season through a final flourish of flash and applause.

After which, the room clears out. The models are gone. New York, temporarily overdressed and tired, prepares for its next show.
